WEYBURN – The Weyburn Comp Eagles hosted the Estevan Elecs for the annual Co-op Challenge volleyball series on Wednesday evening, with the Elecs coming out on top overall.
In the Senior Boys matches, held first, the Eagles lost by scores of 25-12, 25-20 and 25-21, and the girls played four matches, with the Eagles winning one 25-15, along with losses by scores of 26-24, 25-15 and 25-15.
The Weyburn Comp collected food and money donations for the Salvation Army’s food bank as admission to the games, and the proceeds and food were presented to the Salvation Army on Thursday morning. A total of $2,447 was presented along with a large number of food items.
The final two matches in the showdown will be on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at the ECS gymnasium. The senior girls' match will be at 5:30 p.m. and the senior boys will play at 7:30 p.m.
