WEYBURN – The Weyburn Comp Eagles junior boys and girls hosted their second basketball tournament over the weekend, and the boys won their third tourney in as many weeks.
On Friday night the girls lost to a tough team and the tournament champions from Melville by the score of 51-22.
On Saturday morning the girls cruised to a victory over Oxbow 47-13 and then defeated Moosomin 49-24 to finish second in the tournament.
The boys faced a tough opponent from Swift Current on Friday night but they were able to pull out a 55-45 victory. On Saturday they defeated Oxbow 58-39 and Moosomin 75-27 for their third tournament championship in as many weekends.
The junior girls will host St. Michael in the Cugnet gym for an exhibition game on Thursday, Feb. 16, and the boys will be travelling to Moosomin for a tournament on the Feb. 17 and 18 weekend.
