Weyburn Comp athletes compete at regional track meet

Athletes from schools around the southeast converged at the Weyburn Comp track field for the regional track and field meet on Wednesday.

WEYBURN – Athletes from schools around the southeast converged at the Weyburn Comp track field for the regional track and field meet on Wednesday. Coming up on Wednesday, May 29, WCS will be hosting the district track meet.

The following are the results for athletes from the Weyburn Comp by event and age level, with the top three placings in each event.

For bantam boys, in the 100-metre race, Cole Payak placed first, Jeremy Hamel was second; in the 200m race, Cole Payak won first, and Jeremy Hamel was second; in the 400m race, Jeremy Hamel won first; and in the 800m race, Cole Payak was first.

In discus, Jeremy Hamel was first; in high jump, Cody Goski placed second; and in long jump, Cole Payak placed first, with Cody Goski in third.

For bantam girls in the 100m race, Sophie Pollock won first; Rayne Fellner was second, and Yuna Lee came third; in the 1500m race, Rae-Lynn McKnight won first, Lily Penner was second, and Nicole Dayaan placed third.

In the 200m race, Sophie Pollock was first, Rayne Fellner came second and Alyssa Kerr was third.

In the 3000m race, Lily Penner won first place; for the 80m hurdles, Alyssa Kerr won first; and in the 800m race, Rae-Lynn McKnight won first, Grace Anderson placed second, and Nicole Dayaan came in third.

In the high jump, Sophie Pollock won first, Alyssa Kerr placed second; in long jump, Sophie Pollock won first and Alyssa Kerr was second.

For intermediate boys, in the 100m race, Aeryk Benning placed second; in the 100m  hurdles, Alex Labrecque came second, and Andrew Hatch placed third.

In the 200m race, Alex Labrecque won first; in the 4X100 relay, the WCS boys team won first; in the 400m race, Alex Labrecque placed second.

In discus, Jack Bell placed second; in javelin, Jack Bell was first.

For intermediate girls, in the 100m race, Karis Gerle won first, and Natalie Molde placed third; in the 200m race, Natalie Molde won first and Kinley Dammann came second; and in the 4X100 relay, the WCS girls team won first.

In the 400m race, Natalie Molde won first; in discus, Bailey Roy won first and Karis Gerle came third; in javelin, Bailey Roy placed second; and in long jump, Karis Gerle won first place.

For junior boys, in the 100m race, Brody Morrice placed second; in the 100m hurdles, Tace Odima won first; in the 1500m race, Carter Fergason placed second, and Luca Zieglgansberger came in third.

In the 3000m race, Luca Zieglgansberger won first place; in the 4X100 relay, the WCS boys placed second; in the 400m race, Tace Odima won first, and Victor Magawa came third; in high jump, Brody Morrice placed second; in javelin, Jacob Symes won first; in long jump, Tace Odima won first; and in shotput, Jacob Symes placed second.

For junior girls, in the 100m race, Peyton Lokken won first and Zoe Kerr came second; in the 200m race, Zoe Kerr won first; in the 80m hurdles, Zoe Kerr won first; in discus, Hayvn Walbaum placed second; in javelin, Hayvn Walbaum placed second and June Bloor was third.

In long jump, Peyton Lokken won first and Reegan Chicoine was second; and in triple jump, Peyton Lokken was first and Reegan Chicoine was second.

For peewee boys, in the 100m race, Rylan Meier placed second; in the 1500m race, Cohen Fleck won first, Gus Taylor placed second and Lexington Roy came third; in the 200m race, Rylan Meier won first, and Brendan Hope placed third; in the 4X100 relay, the WCS boys team won first place.

In the 400m race, Rayane Benabdallah won first, Cohen Fleck was second and Gus Taylor came in third; in the 800m race, Rylan Meier won first; Cohen Fleck was second and Gus Taylor placed third.

In high jump Rylan Meier won first, and Jaym Bautista came in third; and in shotput, Brendan Hope placed second.

For peewee girls, in the 100m race, Eliza Gall won first; Sadie Hodgkin came second, and Leah Goski placed third; in the 200m race, Eliza Gall won first, Sadie Hodgkin came second; in high jump Brooklyn Schwindt won first and Leah Goski placed third; and in long jump, Leah Goski placed second.

For senior boys, in the 100m race, Noah Kopec won first and Conner Kerr came second; in the 100m hurdles, Conner Kerr won first; in the 200m race, Noah Kopec won first and Jeremy Symes came in third; in the 1500m race, Wylie Kopec won first, Mason Sidloski came second and Calder McMillan was third; in the 3000m race, Wylie Kopec won first and Calder McMillan came second;

In the 4X100 relay, the WCS boys team won first place; in the 400m race, Conner Kerr won first; in the 800m race, Wylie Kopec won first; in shotput, Isaiah Sanderson placed third, and in triple jump, Conner Kerr came second.

For senior girls, in the 100m race, Amryn King won first; in the 1500m race, Autumn Vilcu won first; in the 3000m race, Autumn Vilcu won first; in the 400m race, Autumn Vilcu won first; and in the 800m race, Autumn Vilcu won first with Anna Tronson in second.

In discus, Whitney Lanz-McIntyre placed second; in long jump, Amryn King won first; in shotput, Amryn King placed second and Whitney Lanz-McIntyre was third; and in triple jump, Amryn King won first place.
