Weyburn Bantam Raiders vs. Regina Packers

The Weyburn Bantam Raiders arrived at Darold Kot Field on September 18 to take on the Regina Packers. What a game it was! The first half was the best the Raiders have ever played. Both of the Raider lines saw and played a lot of time.

The Weyburn Bantam Raiders arrived at Darold Kot Field on September 18 to take on the Regina Packers. What a game it was! The first half was the best the Raiders have ever played. Both of the Raider lines saw and played a lot of time.The Offensive line, which includes Matthew Maas, Nick Hillstead, Jay Hopfe, Austin Neiszner, William Ley, and Chance Kenway, helped quarterback Gage Wudrick move the ball up and down the field. Gage had 10 attempts and five completions this half. Rhett Williams lead the rushing yards with a total of18 yards. The Raiders and the Packers seemed to share the possession of the ball quite equally all half. The defensive line, which includes Justin Rubin, Justin Claude, Brandon Russell, Justin Dubiel, Seth Lendrum and Reese Williams, contained the Packers. Leading the tackle count this half was Justin Rubin, Levi Paslawski, and Rhett Hutt with three tackles each. Also helping stop the Packers were Matt Dupont, Jeff Whitrow, Jared Skwara, and Nathan Koszman.During the second half, the Raiders kept the Packers to one touchdown. Gage Wudrick had six attempts and three completions. Rhett Williams lead the receiving yards with nine and Michael Kot had three yards. The defensive line was extremely active during this half. The line stopped the packers at the two-yard line to turn the ball over to Raiders and stop the touchdown.

Leading the tackle board this half was Rhett Hutt with six tackles as line backer and his fellow line backer Levi Paslawski had two tackles. Justin Rubin had four tackles to add to his day's total. Tyler Kwochka, Brandon Russell, Nathan Koszman and Jared Skwara added a couple tackles each.The final score was 20-0 for the Regina Packers. The Packers are the top of their league and the Raiders contained them for the best game that the Raiders have ever played. Once again, the score board doesn't tell how well the Raiders played.The next home game for the Raiders is Saturday, September 25 at 11:30 a.m. This is the last home game for the Weyburn Bantam Raiders. The canteen special will be beef on a bun, chips and a drink. See you there.
