ASSINIBOIA - The onset of a new curling season is approaching fast. The Assiniboia Curling Club has re-organized and the ice making process will begin at the beginning of November. They welcome our new ice-makers. Ron Lucas and Lane Jepson have taken on the responsibility of installing the ice and keeping it in it’s usual keen condition.
We will again offer Monday and Wednesday afternoon curling at 1:30 p.m. The Monday Night Travelling League will reorganize soon. The Thursday night Mixed Recreation League will form the backbone of the regular week’s schedule.
If there is any interest in some form of family night curling or couples night curling or doubles curling on a different night? If so, please let Bill know in the Office at 306-642-5115.
Registration Night will occur on Thursday, November 2 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the ACC Upper Lounge. If a curler is new and looking for a team, let us know. There’s always rinks looking for a curler.
We are hosting the Provincial Ladies Scotties Last Chance Playoff in December this season. The last four rinks come from this event and advance to the Provincial Scotties in January 2024. There will be approximately 16 rinks vying for these berths. Watch soon for further details.
The ACC Annual Meeting will take place on Wed. November 15 at 7 p.m. All those interested in our club are urged to attend. We’re always looking for new board members and volunteers.
We are currently looking for a new kitchen caterer as Shai and Darlene have retired. It would be for spiels and major events only over the course of the season. Please call Bill for further details (642-5115).
And lastly, we thank our past business advertisers. We are currently renewing your support via mail. These include various sizes and forms of wall advertising and in ice advertising.
