Well, it was a beautiful day for a football game on September 4. The Weyburn Bantam Raiders dressed in their new grey jerseys decorated with their names on the back held their first home game of the season at Darold Kot Field.

The Weyburn Bantam Raiders dressed in their new grey jerseys decorated with their names on the back held their first home game of the season at Darold Kot Field. Saturday's opponents were the Regina Sundevils.The first half started off with a disappointing start for the Raiders. The ball was fumbled twice and the Sundevils scored 23 points. The highlights of the first half for the Raiders were d-line. The d-line seen a lot of field action and to the lead the pack was Alex Pitre, Levi Paslawski, Jared Skwara and Justin Rubin each had two tackles against the Sundevils offensive line. Alex Pitre did manage two quarterback sacks this half. Chance Kenway, Tyson Schmidt, Rhett Williams, and Matthew Geiger all contributed a tackle each. The rushing yards and receiving yard were poor this half but the all star was Rhett Williams for 17 yards. Gage Wudrick had 4 rushing yards and 10 yard receiving. Kirk Winter had two attempts and zero completions. Number 23, Tyler Kwochka had three kickoff returns for a total of 24 yards.The second half was a better team effort as a whole for the Raiders. The Raiders had two fumble recoveries. The rushing yards was led by Rhett Williams with 2 yards. The receiving yards were lead by Wade Letkeman for 46 yards and the only touchdown for the Raiders. Michael Kot gained 2 yards for receiving today. In the second half the Raiders had three interceptions by Zachary Olmstead, Jeff Whitrow, and Jared Skwara. Gage Wudrick and Kirk Winter shared quarterback responsibilities with 3 attempts and 2 completions, one ending in the Letkeman touchdown. The D-line for the Raiders was pretty even through the half. Zachary Olmstead, Tyler Kwochka, Justin Rubin, Nathan Koszman, Rhett Hutt, Levi Paslawski, and Gaiton Gaber all completed and contributed one tackle each. Alex Pitre and Reece Williams each received two tackles for the half. The final score was 38 - 6 for the Sundevils. The next game action for the Raiders is Saturday, September 11 at Darold Kot Field.
