The Estevan Raiders and Raiderettes juvenile broomball teams both played at a tournament in Odessa on the weekend. The Raiders finished second, losing to Odessa in the final.
Brady Schlamp was named tournament MVP and top forward and was named to the first all-star team. Forward Brayden Tuchscherer and defenceman Dusty Schlamp were named to the second all-star team.
The Raiderettes were not as fortunate, going winless at the tournament. Raiderettes forward Kristina Chamney was named MVP and top forward and got the nod for the first all-star team.
Hillary Horn of the Raiderettes was named to the second all-star team.
The teams' next action is this weekend in Bruno.
Meanwhile, the Estevan Purple Cobras are currently sitting in fourth place in the Regina Mixed Broomball League with a record of 4-6.
The Cobras' last game was a 2-1 loss to the Lizards on Dec. 18. They return to action this weekend.
