ESTEVAN - Hamisi Kassanga and Dorian Sifton were among the big winners at this year’s Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs football awards.
The two athletes shared the team’s MVP Award during the ceremony held Monday night. Sifton played three positions this season: quarterback, wide receiver and defensive back.
Sifton was also one of the recipients of the other prestigious award on the night, the Who Are We Bryan Illerbrun Memorial Award. Also sharing the award were Thomas Harrison, Tristan Tober, Jayren Schulz and Brayden Mehler.
Kassanga played defensive end and kicker. He was also named the team’s Defensive MVP and Special Teams MVP.
Other award winners were:
Offensive Player of the Year: running back/receiver Khalifa Elshein;
Rookie of the Year: defensive back Indy Froese;
Lineman of the Year: left guard Mike Schroeder; and
Players’ Choice Award: defensive back Jayren Schulz.
