The Notekeu League championship final between the Assiniboia Rebels and the Mossbank Blades got underway on March 3 and 4 with both teams coming away with a win. In game one, Mossbank won 4-3 at the Assiniboia Civic Centre on March 3. It was an evenly matched game with overtime needed to determine the winner. Going into the series, the statistics favoured the Senior Rebels who won all of their match ups against the Blades. But very little separated the two teams on the ice in the first game. It was a hard-fought game with shots cracking off the boards. It was a cleanly played game with no penalties handed out.
The teams meet again for games three in Assiniboia on Friday, March 10 and back to Mossbank Saturday, March 11.
