Minor ball gears up for another season

With minor ball registration having come to a close, organizers are now preparing for the next step. This year, 222 players signed up to partake in the softball and baseball programs in Carlyle.

With minor ball registration having come to a close, organizers are now preparing for the next step. This year, 222 players signed up to partake in the softball and baseball programs in Carlyle.

A number of teams are expected to be formed with programming starting with Learn to Play and making its way up to adulthood.

With seasons slated to start the first week of May, players and coaches are busy preparing for the sport. Several teams have already started indoor practices, as uncertainty as to when the diamonds will be ready is prevalent in most coach's minds.

The softball minor ball program has 100 girls and ladies registered for the season. Teams with include Learn to play, eight and under, 10 and under, 12 and under, 16 and under and ladies softball.

The baseball program is anticipating a total of seven or eight teams with 112 players enlisted. Teams will include eight and under, 10 and under, 12 and under, 14 and under and 17 and under. League playoffs will be held this year on June 25 and 26 in Redvers.
