Local duffers finally got a chance to get out on the course yesterday when Estevan Woodlawn Golf Club opened the front nine for the 2011 season.

The course's opening had been pushed back by flooding earlier this month. It's still not clear when the back nine, which took the brunt of the water, will be ready for play.

"We'll know more later in the week about getting the back nine open," said Woodlawn general manager Brian Dueck.

The driving range opened last Thursday.

The front nine hasn't completely dried up, but Dueck said the conditions are good enough to golf in.
"There's still some wet spots out there, but we'll be able to play on it."

Dueck said the back nine has drained "really well" and officials will continue to pump water.

Weekend green fees for adults are $41.90 for 18 holes or $25.71 for nine. Juniors will pay $20.95 for 18 or $13.33 for nine.

During the week, the adult fees are $37.14 for 18 and $23.81 for nine. For juniors, the cost is $18.57 for 18 holes or $12.38 for nine.
