WEYBURN – A total of 88 curlers on 22 teams took to the ice on Friday and Saturday for the 65th annual Weyburn Oilmen’s Bonspiel at the Weyburn Curling Rink, with a large donation made to community organizations at the opening ceremonies.
The Weyburn Oilfield Technical Society donated a total of $8,322 to 10 organizations in honour of the 65th anniversary event, with representatives on hand from the groups as all of the teams were on the ice for the ceremonies.
The winners of the John Kmita Ltd. A Event of the Weyburn Oilmen’s Bonspiel were the DK Energy team, which included Jenae Nixon, Darren Woodard, Shelby Sidloski, Danette Tracey and Charla Moore.
The winners of the Spearing Service B Event of the Weyburn Oilmen’s Bonspiel were the Goodwater Machining team, including Paul McInnes, Andria Brady, Kevin Cooke and Bonnie Adacsi-Cooke.
The winners of the Jerry Mainil Ltd. C Event of the Weyburn Oilmen’s Bonspiel were the Double T Electric team, including Calli Benko, Jade Bloor, Adam Friedrich and Terrill Bloor.
Each team receives sponsor jackets as well as their names on the trophies.
