The Estevan Chargers wrapped up their Regina Minor Football regular season with a 26-7 loss to the Regina Vikings on Saturday.
The road loss gave the Chargers a final record of 1-7.
Estevan's touchdown came on a second-half run by Jordan Howie.
"It was a really good game. I think it was our best game of the season," said head coach Steve McLellan.
"I was happy to see that we did play the full (game). I thought our defence was really a force."
Regina led 13-0 at halftime.
The Chargers recovered an onside kick to start the second half and then began the drive that led to Howie's major.
"We had them at 13-7 for a while," McLellan said.
The Chargers' lone win this year came in a 50-42 decision over the Grenfell Argos on Sept. 3, but McLellan said there are positives to take forward for a young squad.
"Our wins and losses maybe weren't where we wanted them to be, but I think as a team we definitely grew and got better and continually developed.
"The majority of our kids are going to be Chargers next year, so hopefully we can hit the ground running."
