The Estevan Bruins traded three players off their roster on Wednesday, trimming down to 22 cards at the SJHL's Dec. 1 roster deadline.
The most notable deal saw 19-year-old forward Ryan Ostertag, in the midst of his second season in Estevan, traded to the Nipawin Hawks in exchange for a 1995-born forward Wyatt Johnson, currently with the Saskatoon Blazers, and future considerations.
The Regina native had nine goals and 17 points through 29 games this year, already surpassing his total of 15 points from his rookie season.
The Bruins also sent 19-year-old defenceman Jeff Bartel to the Swan Valley Stampeders of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League for futures. The Steinbach, Man., product had five assists in 28 games this year. He spent part of last season with the Kindersley Klippers.
In their third trade of the day, the Bruins dealt 18-year-old defenceman Lyndon Soper to the Humboldt Broncos for futures. Soper has two assists in 12 games with Estevan this year.
