The Estevan Bruins shook up their roster with a trade on Sunday.
The Bruins sent centre Jesse Bernard and the list rights to prospects Garrett Lockeridge and Brendan Hopkins to the Nipawin Hawks for right winger Tyler Paslawski and defenceman Tyler Poskus.
Paslawski, 19, is the centrepiece of the deal. The 6-foot-2 winger has six goals and 14 points in 21 games with the Hawks this year and will be expected to fill a power forward role for the Bruins. Poskus, 18, has one assist in 12 games with Nipawin.
Bernard was recruited by the Bruins as a highly touted rookie after leading the Manitoba midget AAA ranks in scoring last season. But the 18-year-old centre has struggled mightily in his rookie season, with no points through 20 games.
Lockeridge and Hopkins are 1994-born forwards playing in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League, with the Regina Pat Canadians and Saskatoon Blazers, respectively.
