The Estevan Gem Well atom AA Bruins played at a tournament in Yorkton on the weekend, coming away with a victory in the B final.
The Bruins defeated the Saskatoon Wild Thunder 5-3 in the final, scoring three times in the third period to wrap up the win.
Mason Strutt scored twice for the Bruins, with Kaiden Tuchscherer, Kersey Reich and Alex Von Sprecken adding the other goals.
Levi Wiesner and Liam Nolin had the Saskatoon goals. The Bruins played three other games at the tournament, posting a 2-1 record.
Their first game was a 7-5 loss to the Yorkton Terriers. The Bruins led 4-2 after the second period, but the Terriers would score five times in the third to pull away.
Strutt had two goals for the Bruins. Reich, Jake Palmer and Dawson Schaff added singles. Colby Vranai (2), Zachary McIntyre, Holden Knights, Brett Duczek, Carson Haberman and Ethan Evanovich replied for Yorkton.
Estevan dumped the Regina Rockets 5-1 in their second game. Josh Romanyk led the Bruins with a pair of goals, while Reich, Von Sprecken and Strutt had singles.
The Bruins' third game was a 9-3 whitewashing over the Saskatoon Black Aces. Strutt had a natural hat trick for Estevan, while Romanyk and Schaff each scored twice. Reich and Palmer also scored.
