The final youth charged with four counts of break and enter into Roche Percee residences during last year's flooding was sentenced last Thursday in Estevan provincial court.
The village was abandoned due to the flooding at the time of the incidents. The youth, along with three others, went to his sister's house and his mother's house and took two televisions.
This youth was sentenced to 12 months of probation, during which he must complete 50 hours of community service in Roche Percee, or as directed by his youth worker. The sentence is the same as one of the other youth, while the other two matters were sent to alternative measures, a program for eligible individuals that if completed, leaves them without a criminal record.
In proceedings on Monday, David Anderson was in custody, following an arrest on Saturday. The Frobisher man is facing new charges of assault, unlawful confinement, uttering threats, resisting arrest and a breach of probation. Those add to previous charges of break and enter, theft under $5,000 and two other breaches that have yet to be resolved. The Crown opposed his release and a show-cause hearing is expected to go ahead on Thursday.
