Corine Lonethunder, a 38-year-old woman of the White Bear First Nation was remanded in custody during Estevan's provincial court proceedings on Monday, following an incident from Saturday night.

Lonethunder is charged with attempted murder, uttering threats and aggravated assault. Her show-cause hearing is scheduled for April 14 in Estevan. She is alleged to have stabbed a man and woman on the White Bear First Nation. Both victims were held for observation Saturday night at the Arcola Hospital, and both have since been released.

In other court proceedings, Bernard Sterling, of Estevan was scheduled to have a preliminary inquiry on Monday for his charges relating to child pornography. He now qualifies for legal aid, so the matters were adjourned and his next appearance is April 14.

Phillip Mullins, of Estevan, was also scheduled to have a preliminary inquiry for drug trafficking charges during Monday's court session. Because the federal Crown prosecutor was in a car accident and couldn't make it into court, that matter was rescheduled to May 2, against the wishes of the defence.

In other court business, Sean Caffet pleaded guilty to possessing 110 grams of marijuana, worth $2,200. He had the marijuana for medicinal purposes and has since acquired a permit for the drugs, but did not at the time of the charges.

He received a $500 fine and 12 months of probation, during which he must keep the peace.
