The Wheeler Family made their long-awaited appearance on Family Feud Canada Monday night.
Competing out of Bienfait, the team consisted of Pam Currie (who used to live in Estevan but now resides in Esterhazy), her sister Teresa Smyth of Bienfait, their brother Kelly Wheeler of Stoughton, and their twin siblings, Todd and Scott Marasse of Moose Jaw.
They opened the competition by introducing themselves, and by sharing their well-documented story of how they were reunited last year. The twins were put up for adoption when they were born, and they didn’t reconnect until last year when currie and Todd Marasse used DNA Ancestry kits.
They have since had several get-togethers, including the appearance on Family Feud Canada.
The crowd cheered when they heard the Wheeler family’s story.
Then the competition began against the Tomlin family from Waterloo, Ont. The Wheelers had a good start, stealing 57 points from the Tomlins with their answer on something that’s harder to do backwards than forwards, but the Tomlins recovered to steal the next question, and they won the double money and triple money rounds, too.
A large crowd gathered at Original Joe’s in Estevan to watch the episode with the Wheeler family. It was an extra-special occasion, as it was the 80th birthday of their father, Gerald (Chic) Wheeler.
This week’s edition of Â鶹´«Ã½AVeast Lifestyles will have more on this story.
