WEYBURN – The Wheatland Seniors Centre has two tournaments coming up this month, including a bridge tournament and a cribbage tournament.

The bridge tournament is set for Saturday, Sept. 9, with a cost $15 per person. To register, contact Lucie at 306-842-4194 or Jean at 306-848-2057.

A cribbage tournament will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16, with a cost of $20 per team of two. To register, contact Marlene at 306-891-5230. The deadline to register is Thursday, Sept. 14.

The results of the Wheatland Seniors Centre’s activities from Aug. 21-25 is as follows.

The winners of Spades are, in first place, Ray Boucher; in second, Erskine Sandiford; and in third, Mildred Sandiford.

In Hi-Lo Whist, there was a tie for first place, Faye Johnson and Marge Schultz, tied with Sharon Eggum and Gladys Lokken; in third was Ray and Connie Boucher, and in fourth was Yvonne Von Hagen and WillaMae Donald.

For Canasta, Marlene Szczecinski won first; Jean Reich placed second; Anne Gutzke was third; Shirley Hubbs came fourth; and Eveline Porte was fifth.

The winners of Kaiser were, in first, Ray Boucher and Gladys Lokken; in second, Norma Kapusianyk and Melba Bent, and in third, Jean Fahlman and Jean Knibbs.

In Thursday Crib, Ray and Connie Boucher won first; Stan Hubick and Sheila Greiner placed second; and Marlene Szczecinski and Phyllis Lindskog came in third.

For Fun Crib, first was Garth White; second was Connie Boucher, and in third, Marge Schultz.

The winners of Military Whist were, in first, the team of Anne Gutzke, Lavine Stepp, Janet VanWinkoop and Phyllis Lindskog; taking second were WillaMae Donald, Bernice Jaster, Ray and Connie Boucher, and third was Jean Fahlman, Gerry Thompson, Gladys Lokken and Coral Schindel tied with the team of Joe Stefaniuk, Basil Holyer, Marie Marcotte and Yvonne Von Hagen.

Bingo is held at the Wheatland every Thursday at 1 p.m. Slider cards are 50¢ each.

The Month-End Supper is set for Friday, Sept 29, featuring a turkey dinner. Those attending are asked to  be at the Centre before 5 p.m., as a speaker, Heidi Watson, will give a presentation at 5 p.m. Phone 306-842-3503 to put your name down on the list or come in and write name down on the list.
