WEYBURN – The Weyburn Wor-Kin Shop gratefully accepted a donation of $500 from the Rotary Club of Weyburn for the purchase of a new food slicer.

The Wor-Kin Shop has a daily meal program for participants, and keeping the meals healthy and affordable is the key to success. “We make lunch every day for about 30 people, and we insist that the meals be nutritious,” noted meal coordinator Keri Forsgren.

“Providing healthy meals economically means we need to make most things from scratch, by hand,” she added.

Rotary Club member Gwen Wright was quick to encourage the two organizations to work together to better the service that the Wor-Kin Shop already offers. “The Rotary Club is pleased to have had a positive impact on the meal program at the Wor-Kin Shop,” said Wright.

The Wor-Kin Shop is grateful to the community for the support it receives and this is no exception.

“The Rotary Club is such a great organization,” said Wor-Kin Shop Executive Director Jeff Richards. “This is just another great example of the vision and commitment to community that our Rotary club has.”
