WEYBURN – The Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal (Saskatchewan) has been created to celebrate the 70th anniversary year of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s Accession to the Throne, which began on February 6, 2022.
The Government of Saskatchewan has partnered with several organizations, including the City of Weyburn, to ensure a wide distribution of medals across the province.
The Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal (Saskatchewan) will be a tangible way to recognize 7,000 outstanding Saskatchewanians of all ages and from all walks of life, who have built and continue to build a strong, vibrant society and province through their service, contributions and achievements.
To be eligible for a medal, the recipient must:
· Be a resident of Saskatchewan or have a link to Saskatchewan (at the time of the grant of the medal);
· Have made a contribution to Canada, Saskatchewan, or a particular region or community; and
· Be alive on February 6, 2022, the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty’s accession to the Throne.
The nomination deadline for Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal (Saskatchewan) is October 31, 2022. The nomination form can be found at https://weyburn.ca/queen-elizabeth/. Nominations should be submitted to:
