The congregation of the Weyburn Free Methodist Church sings a praise song at a worship service on Jan. 9. The church is marking its 100th year in Weyburn this year, with the actual centennial date on Jan. 22, 1911. This modern version of the church service looks much different from the early days, when no instruments were initially used and hymn books only contained words and rhythm meters, no music, while the pews were originally planks of wood, sometimes with boards on the back. Today's services features a full band with instruments and singers and padded pews for comfort.
