Wawota news – fundraiser for person injured in fall

Sympathy to Ross Wilson and family of Brent, Kevin and Dale on the passing of Marilyn Wilson. She was the daughter of Clarkson and Mary McVicar and a sister to Donna (Dempsy) and Brenda (Horvath). She passed away at Deer View Lodge at the age of 81 years. Marilyn spent the last 10 years at Deer View Lodge. May she rest in peace.

Visiting in Wawota recently was the Hinz family from Humboldt. This included Keith and Lori and their family Jared, Alyssa and Jennifer. They were former Wawota residents.

Dylan and Kelsey Mill's baby girl, who was born on Oct. 17, has been named Blakley Thea. The Thea is from her late great-great grandmother, Dorothea Mieltz.

The community was saddened to see the closing-out sale at Front Porch these last few weeks. This business, owned by Shannon Houff, has been an integral part of this community for 18 years.

Word has been received on the passing of Warren Wallin of Brandon on Oct. 22. He was 71 years old. He leaves behind his wife, Darlene, and sons Chris and Chad and their families. Warren was the chief executive officer of the Moose Mountain District. His funeral service was held in Moosomin on Nov. 4.

Happy 50th wedding anniversary to Gordon and Marie Clements. They were married on Nov. 3.
Warren Bowes passed away in October at the age of 90. He leaves behind his wife Mary and  children Dale, Alan, Karen and Kevin and their families.

Get well wishes for Kyle Smyth who suffered from a tragic fall at the Haunted Hotel last weekend. He is in ICU, sedated and on life support. There is a fund set up to support his family. Donations can be made at any Conexus Credit Union branch in Saskatchewan.
Once again this year UNICEF Halloween posters were sold. All the proceeds are sent to UNICEF. This year I sent $420. Thank you to Darren Olson for the photocopying.

Some have expressed that they think this money should be used locally. This money is used by UNICEF for food, shelter, clothing, medical services and education for those that are in need. Which of these items do our children lack?
