On the night of July 19 Estevan Police Service (EPS) personnel set up an investigation into a report of a stolen vehicle, arrested a 30-year-old Bienfait man for having open liquor in a vehicle while handing him a 24-hour driver's licence suspension, and responded to three false alarm calls.

During the course of the evening shift, EPS members also charged two men for speeding after they were clocked through a radar set up northbound on Souris Avenue approaching Albert Street.

During the day of July 20, police attended to several more false alarm calls throughout the city but enjoyed a relatively quiet evening shift.

During the course of the evening of July 22, several young people were ticketed for being in possession of alcohol and that offence carries a fine of $360 or the charges may be contested in court in late August.

Police responded to several calls regarding power lines being struck by tree branches, causing some fire outbreaks. In those instances, SaskPower and Estevan Fire Rescue Service were dispatched to cope with the events that were being caused by the extremely high winds. No injuries were reported.

On that same night EPS members responded to a complaint of a fight on the city's southeast side. Police did not find the combatants but while they were in the area they attended to a noisy party which resulted in the party goers being dispersed with no charges being laid.

On the night of July 23, a man was observed acting in a suspicious manner by patrolling police officers. When police checked him, they learned he had stolen numerous items from a local business, and the 24-year-old was arrested and is now scheduled to appear in court in September.

Police were next called to a local hotel in response to a report of a domestic dispute. When they arrived they discovered there had been no altercation and the occupants of the room were just being loud so they were warned about the noise level of their debate and no further policing action was required.

The next call for police on July 23 involved a noisy party complaint on the city's north side. The party's host was charged under the noise bylaw and he will appear in court in late August to answer to the charge.

Police were next alerted to the fact that a vehicle travelling on the city's east side had failed to stop at a red light. The vehicle and driver were located and a 19-year-old Bienfait male was arrested for impaired driving and for being in possession of a controlled substance. He now has a September court date.

On the night of July 24, EPS members tracked down a vehicle that was being driven erratically within the city. Once they made the stop, police determined the operator was intoxicated and driving without a valid licence. They arrested the 31-year-old Regina man for impaired driving and for driving while suspended as well as for speeding. He has a September court date.

EPS members next fielded a call regarding suspicious activity that involved parked vehicles being entered in the residential area of the city's east side. Police learned that at least two vehicles had been entered and one window in one of the vehicles had been broken. This matter remains under investigation.
