LAFLECHE — The Lafleche Wood River Fire Department responded to a call of a motor vehicle colliding with a power box at a rail crossing near Melaval along Highway 13 on the evening of Oct. 23.
No injuries resulted from the collision and power was not affected. Fortunately, the van involved was not on the rail crossing.
Driving conditions remain hazardous, with many roads in the south either closed or travel not recommended. Highway 13 between Assiniboia and Limerick was marked closed at the time of the collision, according to the highway hotline.
