REGINA - Environment Canada has lifted the weather warnings for southern Saskatchewan.
A winter storm warning has been lifted for southeast region Thursday morning. Estevan, Weyburn, Carlyle, Moosomin and surrounding areas were among those affected. A snowfall warning for Regina, Moose Jaw, Assiniboia and surrounding areas came to an end Thursday afternoon.
There had been weather warnings for southern Saskatchewan since Sunday afternoon. It started with a special weather statement for all of southern Sask. Sunday afternoon. Then a winter storm watch came into effect Monday afternoon for the southeast and south-central regions.
Tuesday afternoon brought the winter storm warning for the southeast and the snowfall warning for south-central areas.
The storm started in parts of southern Saskatchewan Tuesday night and was hammering the area Wednesday. It caused treacherous highway conditions throughout the area and resulted in numerous highway closures.
