Estevan's entertainment calendar is quickly filling up.

The Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils has announced three different events for the Energy City over the next couple of months.

Two of the acts are part of the Koncerts for Kids series.

The MOTUS O Dance Theatre will present Circus Terrifico! In Estevan April 15 at 2 p.m. at Westview School.

Those in attendance will meet the circus performers as they are boarding the train to their next show. A case of vanishing tickets, however, thwarts their plans and strands them on the platform. It takes every trick in the book (and their suitcases!) to create an impromptu show to raise money for new tickets. The show will include the signature MOTUS O physicality and humour. The public will also see how a little magic, juggling, tight-rope walking and fortune-telling can fulfill every child's fantasy to run off and join the circus.

The other Koncerts for Kids program is Infinitus, a string trio known for their unique sound and upbeat performance style. With programs that feature polished classical works and original jazz, latin and hip-hop arrangements/compositions, audiences can expect a fun and interactive concert experience.

Infinitus was formed in 2002 by twins Alex and Anthony Cheung and evolved into a dynamic trio with the addition of John "Adidam" Littlejohn. The members hold degrees from the University of Michigan and the Peabody Conservatory and have won numerous awards at the local, national, and international level.

Infinitus is dedicated to quality outreach and often performs for schools, nursing homes, hospitals, Native reserves, fundraisers, and correctional facilities.

Infinitus will be performing at 2 p.m. in Westview School on May 6.

For more information on both events contact Brenda Lyons of the Estevan Arts Council at 634-2584 or [email protected] or visit www.osac.sk.ca.

The other performance, which will see pianist Audrey Andrist make a return to Estevan, is part of the Stars for Saskatchewan series.

Hailed as a "stunning pianist with incredible dexterity" (San Francisco Classical Voice), Andrist has thrilled audiences around the globe, from North America to Japan, China and Germany with her "passionate abandon", "bright energy", and "great intelligence."

Andrist grew up on a farm near Estevan, and while in high school travelled three hours one-way for piano lessons with William Moore, himself a former student of famed musicians Cécile Genhart and Rosinna Lhévinne. She completed master's and doctoral degrees at New York's elite Juilliard School, studying with Herbert Stessin, and garnered first prizes at the Mozart International, San Antonio International, Eckhardt-Gramatté, and Juilliard Concerto competitions.

Andrist's performance is scheduled for April 22 beginning at 2:30 p.m. in St. Paul's United Church.
