Theft investigations being led by EPS members

On the night of Sept. 21, EPS members were called to a business in the east central area of the city to check on an intoxicated man who was inside the building. The 61-year-old subject was located outside the building by police and was later charged with being intoxicated in a public place.
A theft that occurred on the south side of the city was being investigated by police on Sept. 21. The culprits had managed to enter the business and located the cash box. They took a cheque that was inside the cash box and then left the scene.
A report of an assault that occurred at a residence in Willow Parks Green was also being investigated by police as of Sept. 21.
That same evening, police received a report that a vehicle had been vandalized while parked near a residence in the central part of the city. Someone placed gravel and sugar in the vehicle's fuel tank which caused extensive damages. This matter remains under investigation.
Police also received a report of a missing person on the night of Sept. 20, but the person in question, who had been travelling to Saskatoon, was reported to have arrived safely at their destination by the next day.
On the night of Sept. 22, police learned that a vehicle had been entered while it was parked in a residential garage in the Scotsburn area of the city. A small amount of change had been taken. The incident remains under investigation.
EPS members received a report of a suspicious person during the day of Sept. 22. Police learned that a female suspect had approached a person in the central part of the city and identified herself as being an employee of a local business and asked the victim where they lived. Police investigation revealed that a representative from the business in question was not deployed in that area of the city at that time so the incident remains under investigation.
Police received a report that a wallet and purse were stolen from a vehicle while it was parked at a residence in the 600 block of Albert Street during the day of Sept. 22. The purse was grey/black in colour with a check pattern. The theft remains under investigation.
EPS members were also called upon to investigate a vehicle accident at the intersection of Kensington Avenue and King Street that same day. A northbound vehicle initiated a left turn onto King Street in front of an oncoming vehicle which was southbound, resulting in the collision. The driver of the northbound vehicle was charged with failing to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic.
Police also looked into another theft incident on the day of Sept. 22 when they learned that a ring was stolen from a woman who was in the central business district. The owner of the ring had taken it off and placed it down on a counter while trying on some clothing. The ring then disappeared, so the matter remains under investigation.
On the night of Sept. 24, EPS members were called to the north central part of the city in response to noise complaints. The occupants of the residence were warned about the noise bylaw and no further action was required.
During that same night, seven people were arrested and charged with being intoxicated in public following numerous alcohol-fuelled disturbances. Some of the disturbances involved fights which had broken out near a north central business. Police also issued a number of traffic tickets for various driving offences that same night, and one person was ticketed for consuming alcohol in public.
On the night of Sept. 24, police were called to a north central business in response to a report of a man collapsing into unconsciousness. The man was revived and transported to hospital as a precautionary measure.
Police also responded to a possible domestic dispute on the night of Sept. 25. The subjects involved were spoken to by police and the matter was resolved without further incident.
On that same night, two individuals were arrested for being intoxicated in public when they were picked up outside a building in the central part of the city. Another 38-year-old man was escorted from a local lounge after he had refused to leave the premises when asked to do so.
Police were required to set up another investigation into a theft when it was learned that a purse had been stolen from a business in the central part of the city. Some cash as well as a wallet were taken with identification papers being contained in the wallet.
On the night of Sept. 25, police responded to a noise complaint in the northern part of the city. The owner was warned about the city's noise bylaw.
City police next responded to a couple of reports of mischief and vandalism. In one incident, property had been damaged by a vehicle while in the other matter, a sign had been damaged which led to a number of young people being questioned by police, resulting in the matter being resolved.
