Update: Latest special air quality statement for south Sask lifted

SOUTHERN SASKATCHEWAN - Environment Canada Widespread wildfire smoke continues to affect parts of southern Saskatchewan, causing elevated AQHI values and reduced visibilities in many areas.

The most recent special air quality statement for south Saskatchewan has ended.

SOUTHERN SASKATCHEWAN - Environment Canada has lifted the latest special air quality statement for parts of southeast and south-central Saskatchewan.

The advisory was issued early Thursday. It stated that widespread wildfire smoke continues to affect parts of southern Saskatchewan, causing elevated air quality index values and reduced visibility in many areas.

Smoke was expected to gradually clear out this evening and into the overnight hours.

The advisory was for Regina, Moose Jaw, Estevan, Weyburn, Carlyle, Assiniboia, Moosomin and other regions.
