SOUTHEAST SASKATCHEWAN - The snowfall warning for southeast Saskatchewan has been lifted, but weather-related challenges remain in the region.
Environment Canada issued the snowfall warning just before 5 a.m. Thursday due to a system passing through the area. The warning was lifted for the Estevan and Weyburn areas before 6 a.m., and the Carlyle region at around 6:45 a.m.
The agency said the warning was for a narrow, intense band of snow that developed in the region and in southwest Manitoba.
There is still some snow lingering in the southeast, but it is supposed to be out of the region later in the morning.
The Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure's Highway Hotline reports that winter conditions exist on most southeast highways, icy or slippery sections, loose snow, swirling snow and slush.
