After a few years of preparation, 鶹ýAVeast College announced on November 7 that it will be offering its own third class power engineering theory only course. The first course is scheduled to start February 5, 2018, at the Estevan Campus.
“We developed this course to assist with the continued training of power engineers in our region,” said Jody Holzmiller, Vice President, Training at 鶹ýAVeast College. “We recognized an opportunity to provide flexibility in the delivery model as well as to assist our students in a focused approach as they prepare for their regulatory exams through the Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan (TSASK).”
The course lasts 15 weeks and covers the requirements to prepare students to write their TSASK examinations. The course has been recognized by TSASK as an approved third class theory program. Students who successfully complete the course and exams receive six months of time credits towards their stream time requirement at the third class level.
In addition to the full-time program offered, 鶹ýAVeast College also offers employers flexible delivery options to accommodate the continued learning and success of their employees. “Because this is 鶹ýAVeast College’s course, we have the flexibility to deliver it according to the needs of our students and their employers,” stated Holzmiller.
Applications are now being accepted for the 15-week program.
