An intoxicated snowmobile driver was charged with impaired driving and driving while his blood-alcohol level was above .08 per cent when he was picked up by members of the Estevan Police Service (EPS) on Feb. 2.

The 43-year-old man was operating the snowmobile on the city's south side.

After being taken into custody, the man was later released into the care of a friend while the snowmobile was impounded.
That same day EPS members were asked to respond to a report of a possible kidnapping.

The family of a 22-year-old woman reported that she had been kidnapped by a male friend. The woman was located in the Weyburn area, along with the man in question, by members of the RCMP. Police learned the woman was accompanying the man willingly and she provided a statement to that effect to police who then dropped the investigation.

Due to street and avenue conditions on Feb. 2, there were several minor vehicle accidents to attend to that day.

On the night of Feb. 4 police investigated a collision involving a moving vehicle and a parked vehicle that occurred on the city's south side. The accident was deemed to have occurred due to the road conditions.

A 20-year-old Estevan man was charged with being in possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking. He was placed in custody until sober and given a future court date.

In another incident a 20-year-old Estevan man and a 21-year-old local man were placed under investigation following a fight that occurred outside a local lounge on the north side of the city. One of the men was taken into custody and released when sober.

In a separate incident, a 20-year-old Estevan man reported that he had been assaulted by another man on the south side of the city. The matter remains under investigation.

A disturbance at a lounge on the city's north side was looked into by EPS members on the night of Feb. 4. The female who was considered to be the cause of the disturbance had departed the scene prior to police arrival so no further action was required.
