The Â鶹´«Ã½AV East Cornerstone School Board is hoping to meet with the Education Ministry regarding the tax rebalance.
The Board has directed Director of Education Dr. Marc Casavant to arrange a meeting between Minister of Education Donna Harpauer and the trustees, in order to receive an answer as to why Â鶹´«Ã½AV East Cornerstone School Division was affected by a tax rebalance. The Board had been advised that the budget would be a status quo budget when the new funding model was not introduced. Due to that tax rebalance, $1.35 million had to be cut from the division's budget for the 2011-12 year, which will see a decrease of $186,000 in funding. Â鶹´«Ã½AV East Cornerstone was one of six school divisions to be affected by this tax rebalance.
