REGINA — Nominations for the 2022 Saskatchewan Order of Merit have now opened, with recipients
The Order of Merit is the province’s highest honour, awarded to recipients by the Lieutenant Governor to recognize “excellence, achievement and contributions to the cultural, social and economic well-being of the province.”
"The Saskatchewan Order of Merit enables us to recognize people who have made outstanding contributions to our province," said Lieutenant Governor Russ Mirasty. "Please consider nominating a deserving individual for this prestigious honour."
Nominees can be either current or former long-term residents of the province, and must be named as an individual. Posthumous nominations are also accepted, provided it is within one year of the individual’s death.
“Previous recipients have come from diverse backgrounds and have made contributions to the arts, business, industry, agriculture and volunteer service sectors,” said a statement from the provincial government.
The deadline for nominations is on Nov. 30, which can be submitted online, by mail or in-person.
