The local state of emergency declaration for the Rural Municipality of Estevan will remain in effect.

Greg Hoffort, administrator for the RM, said council will review the situation each week to discuss whether the declaration should be removed. That practice will continue week by week until the things improve across the RM.

"The river is not the least of our worries," said Hoffort. "It is a concern, but we've got other places to worry about too."

More roads are being overtaken by water run-off, and council is working on developing traffic plans for people who require access to certain areas. They are also canvassing drainage plans that will help with the flood events around the municipality.

Road bans have been extended another two weeks, after the decision was made at the June 7 council meeting.

Council discussed physician recruitment and retention, which it is working on in co-operation with the City of Estevan.

The RM issued six new development permits and four new oil well permits. One new oil flow line was approved by council.
