REGINA — Regina police are assisting the provincial coroners office and CP Rail in investigating an incident on Sunday that has resulted in the death of a Regina man.
On Aug. 1 at approximately 3 a.m., CP Rail reported to officers that an eastbound train had struck a pedestrian just east of the Albert Street overpass in Regina.
Police and EMS attended the scene, where officers found a 56-year-old male who was pronounced deceased.
The coroner gathered statements from the train’s personnel and members of the RPS Forensic Identification unit were able to gather evidence to identify the individual.
Regina police said they will not be releasing the man’s name, and his next-of-kin have been notified of his death.
