Regina pair charged after flipping vehicle in collision

Loaded firearm discovered at scene by police.

REGINA – A spectacular collision that left one vehicle flipped on it's roof over the weekend resulted in charges for a Regina pair.

The hit and run call came to police just after 11 p.m. on June 3, with the caller stating they witnessed two people getting out of the vehicle and fleeing the scene.

"Patrol officers and members of the Canine Unit attended and discovered an SUV that had hit a parked vehicle and was on its roof," said RPS in a media release. "Officers knew by the evidence at the scene and witness statements that the occupants of the vehicle were injured and required medical attention."

Police soon found an injured man and woman in a nearby home, who were then transported by EMS for treatment in hospital.

"A search of the vehicle turned up a loaded firearm and ammunition," RPS said.

Oliver Wobbe, 51, and Dakota Brittain, 21, were charged with failure to stop after an accident, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and careless use of a firearm.

Both will make their initial appearance in Regina Provincial Court on July 19.
