REGINA — Jason Bohach is still reveling in his recent Lotto 6/49 $1 million win. The Regina resident won his prize on the April 26 Gold Ball draw.
“I checked my ticket on the app,” Bohach said during his prize claim interview. “I scanned a few tickets; this one I had to scan a few times."
“I didn’t understand what was happening [when I saw the prize amount on the screen],” he continued, laughing. "I kept scanning it, over and over, probably ten or more times. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.”
Bohach said he tried to carry on as normal for the rest of the day, but it was difficult.
“It was a struggle,” he said. “I had to take a break to play ‘If I Had a Million Dollars’ by the Barenaked Ladies. Because I have a million dollars!”
“It feels so surreal,” he continued. “I have a perma-smirk!”
The winner said he has a few ideas for his windfall, but nothing is set in stone.
“I’m very undecided,” he laughed. “My girlfriend and I would like to take a trip, we’ll probably put some money toward our mortgage, we’ll do some investing… Maybe I’ll find some new hobbies along the way, too.”
Bohach purchased his winning Lotto 6/49 ticket at the 7-Eleven Food Store located at 2102 Pasqua St. in Regina. His Gold Ball Draw-winning selection was 27865753-06 (white ball). He also won $5 on the Classic Lotto 6/49 draw.
Tickets for this Saturday's Lotto 6/49 draw are available until 8:30 p.m. at all Lotto Spot locations, the Lotto Spot app and on Subscription Spot.
