The local detachment of the RCMP is seeking public assistance in their attempts to solve a series of crimes that occurred in the southeast area of the province over the past couple of weeks.
The police noted that during the early morning hours of May 1, a mischief incident occurred in the town of Torquay.
The RCMP said the front windows of a residence were damaged as well as the windows of two vehicles that were parked near the home.
The second incident occurred in the village of Roche Percee on the evening of May 3 or the early morning hours of May 4.
In this event, two Caterpillar tractor units that were parked north of the community were taken for a joy ride and were returned to the same location from which they had been taken, but not before the operators had inflicted damage to a nearby fence.
Two more crimes were reported between May 5 and 8. In one incident a large quantity of diesel fuel was stolen from a tank in the Lampman area. This is the second time fuel had been taken from the same location in recent weeks.
RCMP are also seeking information regarding a case of vandalism that occurred on the Shand Road east of Estevan. In this incident, a business located along the road had been damaged. Police note that this particular business had been targeted by vandals several other times in recent months. They have determined that the vandals dig under the fence to gain entry and in the recent incident, they used golf clubs to break vehicle windows.
Anyone with information to share regarding any of these incidents is asked to contact the local RCMP detachment at 637-4400 or report anonymously through Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
