RCMP area update

The Carlyle RCMP Detachment 62 calls from Oct. 17 to 24. Oct. 17 RCMP received a 911 call about a vehicle driving northbound on highway 9, 15 miles south of Carlyle. The vehicle was reportedly driving in an erratic manner.

Oct. 17

RCMP received a 911 call about a vehicle driving northbound on highway 9, 15 miles south of Carlyle. The vehicle was reportedly driving in an erratic manner. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.

Members attended to a call from Moose Mountain Provincial Park as someone had become stuck on a road. By the time members arrived, the person was no longer stuck and waiting to be let out of the gate.

An individual attended the detachment to report an assault. The individual did not want to press charges, but just to inform police of the matter.

Police are investigating two break-and-enters to cabins at White Bear Lake Resort.

Members received a report of a possible intoxicated driver in the area. Patrols were made but the vehicle was not located.

There was a complaint that 800 bushels of grain were stolen from a grain bin near Manor.

Members were called to a domestic dispute in Arcola. Upon investigation, police determined there was no assault. There were no charges laid.

Oct. 18

The detachment in Carlyle received a complaint that someone was in breach of conditions, however, the individual did not want anything done about it.

Police received a complaint that some individuals, possible kids, had been going through vehicles in Kisbey. Nothing appeared to be taken other than change. Police are going to try and increase patrols in Kisbey after dark.

Police are investigating a case of vandalism to an abandoned house in the area.

The Carlyle detachment received a request from the Arcola Day Care to send a member to do a presentation on Halloween safety. A member will attend.

There was a complaint from Redvers that someone was driving a dirt bike in the school area. The caller wanted this person charged, but would not provide a statement, therefore police could not lay any charges.

There was a theft of an old dryer drum from a home near Manor. Police continue to investigate.

Oct. 19

An individual called police after he noticed someone broke into his unlocked truck while it was parked in Kisbey.

Police received a complaint of an assault which occurred on Pheasant Rump First Nation. The victim did not wish to lay charges.

A 29-year-old female was issued a ticket while driving on highway 13 near Arcola for failing to comply with a license restriction.

Carlyle RCMP and emergency services responded to a female at a motel in Carlyle who required medical help.

Police received a complaint from a female who had just received a phone call asking if there was a man in the house. The area code indicated it was out of the Toronto area, and it was suspected the call came from a telemarketer. Phone Busters was informed.

Members received a report that someone was driving in the Carlyle area without a valid license. Police were unable to attend at the time as they were tied up with another call.

The detachment received a complaint from the town of Carlyle that there was a vehicle parked in a back alley and was therefore causing issues for traffic and grading. The registered owner was informed and asked to park in a designated area.

Oct. 20

Police received a report of damage to the food booth on the Arcola fair grounds. The complainant did not know when it occurred, but thought it was caused by an ATV.

Members attended to home in the area after learning about a possible assault. The complainant wanted a couple individuals removed from the residence. When members attended the individuals were willing to leave. There were no charges.

Police attended to a false alarm at a business in Carlyle.

An individual from Redvers called to inform police of another individual who was in breach of conditions. The caller did not want to pursue charges.

Police responded to a residence in the area and arrested a 39-year-old male who was refusing to leave. The individual was transported to the detachment in Carlyle where he spent the night until sober.

Oct. 21

There was a single vehicle rollover in the area.

Police received a request to locate an individual who had not been seen in a few days. Members had seen the individual in Carlyle the previous and therefore determined the person was not missing.

There was a report that a tanker truck was speeding westbound from Redvers on highway 13. Members were not in a position to respond to the complaint at that time. The complainant was advised.

An inspection ticket was issued to a 16-year-old female for loud and unnecessary noise from her vehicle in Carlyle.

An excessive noise ticket was issued to a 16-year-old male in Carlyle.

Members assisted Saskatoon Police Service by executing a warrant during a traffic stop.

A 24-year-old male was issued a speeding ticket on highway 13 near Wauchope.

A 33-year-old male was issued a ticket for failing to wear a seatbelt. He was also issued an inspection ticket to remove excessive window tint. This occurred on highway 13 near Redvers.

Police were advised of a burnt vehicle on the 605 grid. This matter is still being investigated. Police received a call regarding a Suburban on fire. Members attended and the vehicle was towed. This is related to the above call.

Oct. 22

RCMP members received a call from an individual concerned about a vehicle speeding and passing on the shoulder. The caller noticed the vehicle on highway 13 and saw it turn onto highway 9. Police caught up to the vehicle at highway 48 and 9. Since the caller was willing to provide a statement, police were able to issue a ticket to the 18-year-old male for driving without due care and attention.

Police received a complaint of a single vehicle rollover south of Carlyle. The driver had swerved to miss a deer and flipped onto the roof.

A 29-year-old male was charged with speeding near Carlyle.

There was a complaint of a vehicle speeding down Coteau Avenue in Carlyle. This matter is still being investigated.

Oct. 23

There was a 911 call regarding a fire at Lion's Park. This file was not updated at press time.

RCMP members received a call regarding a single vehicle rollover near Redvers. There were no injuries. Police attended to the accident scene. It appeared as though the driver hit a big dip in the road and lost control. This matter is still being investigated. It is unlikely charges will be pursued.

Members are investigating a sexual assault complaint that occurred in the area.

Police are investigating 13 break-and-enters reported to cabins at White Bear Lake Resort.

The Carlyle detachment received an open-line 911 call from Redvers. This file was not updated at press time.

Police received notification of a liquor permit issued for a family function in Wawota.
