Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of May 9 to 15:
*Shortly after midnight on May 15, Police attended to a noisy party in the 400 block of Fifth Street. The occupants of the residence were warned about the noise bylaw.
*Around 2:30am on May 15, Police stopped a vehicle on highway # 39 for speeding. As a result of the stop, a 48 year old male was charged with driving over .08. He will make his first court appearance on June 14, 2011.
*Around 6am on May 15, Police attended to a complaint of loud music coming from a residence. The occupants of the residence were warned about the noise bylaw.
*Also on May 15, the Police received several complaints of young persons riding non licensed dirt bikes and quads in back alleys and on the streets around the City of Weyburn. The Weyburn Police Service would like to remind the residents of Weyburn that riding quads or non-licensable dirt bikes within the city limits is illegal and could result in a ticket being issued.
*On May 14, around 5:30pm, a 43 year old male subject fell off his pedal bike on Fourth Street near the Police Station and sustained a head injury. EMS attended to the scene and the male subject was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
*On May 13, Police attended to a complaint of a noisy stereo. The subject was cautioned about the noise bylaw in Weyburn. No charges were laid.
*On May 12, around 5pm, Police attended to a fight between 2 females on Fifth Street. Both the females are young offenders and have been charged with causing a disturbance by fighting.
*Around 9pm on May 12, Police received a complaint of a vehicle being damaged while parked in the McKenna hall parking lot. No suspects in the incident.
*On May 11, shortly after 3pm, Police received another report of a hit and run accident. This one occurred on Third Street Â鶹´«Ã½AV in Weyburn. There are no suspects.
*On May 11, shortly before 5pm, Police attended to a residence on Warren Avenue to keep the peace. The situation was resolved without incident.
*Just before 8pm on May 11, Police received a complaint of a theft from a local business in Weyburn. The incident is still under investigation and no charges have been laid at this time.
*Shortly after 7pm on May 10, Police received a complaint of a vehicle hitting a tree in the alley behind Montgomery Crescent. The three occupants of the vehicle were seen exiting the vehicle. The vehicle was seized and towed. No charges were laid in the incident.
*On May 9, a 41 year old male was arrested and charged with uttering threats against members of the Weyburn Police Service. The male subject made his first court appearance and was held in custody for a mental health evaluation.
*Also on May 9, Police received a complaint of a hit and run accident that occurred while the vehicle was parked on Industrial Lane in Weyburn. There are no suspects in the incident.
The Weyburn Police Service attended to a total of 98 calls of service during this reporting period. Of these 98 calls, there were a total of 15 false alarm calls that the Police attended to.
