WEYBURN – Update Dec. 30: The investigation into missing Weyburn woman, 77-year-old Frances Gazeley, continues.
Snowmobilers, people checking livestock and property or travelling in rural areas near Weyburn, Ceylon, Minton, Bengough or Colgate in the coming days and weeks are being asked by police to keep an eye out and report any signs of Frances and/or any clothing or other items that seem out of place or normally wouldn’t be there. Please report any related findings to Weyburn Police Service by calling 306-848-3250 or call your nearest RCMP Detachment.
“We want to thank members of the public for checking their property in these areas for signs of Frances,” says Insp. Josh Graham, Senior Investigative Officer with the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crime Unit. “No one has spoken with her since December 7 and as the last known place she was seen was in the Weyburn area, we are focusing search efforts in nearby locations. The area can be vast and open in some places so we are renewing our call to the public to please report anything out of the ordinary in the areas they frequent.”
RCMP Major Crime Unit investigators have completed several searches in these rural areas with the assistance of and ongoing collaboration with Weyburn Police Service, surrounding Saskatchewan RCMP Detachments and Civil Air Search and Rescue Association in the past week. Frances has not been located.
We are also renewing calls for anyone with trail or security cameras to please check them.

Background Dec.20: The investigation into missing Weyburn woman, 77-year-old Frances Gazeley, continued through the weekend in the Weyburn and surrounding region.
Frances is described as being 5’6” tall with blue eyes and grey hair. She requires medication that she does not have with her. Frances may be wearing a purple or blue-ish winter coat and short black boots. She has not been physically seen since Dec. 6 or 7.
The focus remains on locating her and investigators are asking members of the public who live in the communities of Weyburn, Ceylon, Minton, Bengough, Colgate and all surrounding rural areas, to please check your fields and any outbuildings on your property for signs of Frances and/or any clothing that wouldn’t normally be there.
The RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit is assisting the Weyburn Police Service in the search for Frances. Please report any related findings to Weyburn Police Service by calling 306-848-3250 or call your nearest RCMP Detachment.
They are also asking anyone with property in the above noted areas with trail or security cameras to please check them for signs of Frances, out of the ordinary activity or if you saw a grey, four-door 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier, license plate 479 LKW on December 7 or 8, 2021.

There was an increased police presence on the 1000 block of Regina Avenue in Weyburn in relation to this investigation throughout the day Wednesday. At this time, police cannot confirm whether this missing person investigation is suspicious in nature.
