Police arrests one for impaired driving

ESTEVAN — Estevan police arrested and charged a 23-year-old man for impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle over .08 on Aug. 14. He provided breath samples that were over twice the legal limit and was held in custody until sober.

The same day members received a call of a domestic disturbance in the east-central area of the city. A 31-year-old woman was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. She was lodged in cells until sober.

Police also responded to a domestic disturbance in the north-central area. That incident was mediated and resolved with no further police action.

Later officers responded to a noise complaint in the east-central area. The noise had quieted down and no further police action had to take place.

Police responded to a total of 48 occurrences from Aug. 11-13. Calls for service included suspicious persons, well-being checks, motor vehicle collisions and thefts from local businesses.

Police received a report of a hit and run motor vehicle accident on Aug. 11, in which a parked vehicle was struck by another one. Surveillance video is being obtained, and the matter is under investigation.

Police along with the PACT team attended to two separate disturbances in the Trojan subdivision Aug. 12. The matters were resolved shortly after arrival.

An Estevan man was arrested for causing a disturbance inside licensed premises and was lodged in cells. The man was also charged with uttering threats to a police officer and failing to comply with his conditions sentence order and is being held in custody to appear in court this morning.
