ESTEVAN - Santa Claus continued his tradition of riding through Estevan while aboard a Harley Davidson on Christmas Eve, but this year there was so much more to his appearance.
After riding through the city to the delight of many people, he went to the parking lot of the Power Dodge Curling Centre, where he encouraged people to burn out hunger. More than 100 people watched as he and his motorcycle were loaded onto a platform and lifted high into the air. He then proceeded to perform a burnout for the crowd.
People took photos and videos of the spectacle. Some cheered him by honking horns. A lot of people watched from inside the vehicles, while others were outside on the December afternoon.
After the burnout, Santa got off the bike, waved, wished everyone Merry Christmas and thanked the crowd for showing up.
The Estevan Salvation Army, with support from the Estevan branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, was accepting donations of food and cash for the food bank.
