KIPLING - A powerful storm brought heavy precipitation and powerful winds to Kipling and other communities in southeast Saskatchewan on Sunday.
The winds toppled trees and caused other damage. Heavy rain and large hail were part of the system.
Kipling was among the communities hit hard.
A tornado warning was issued at 3:11 p.m. for the RMs of Kingsley, Silverwood and Wawken and all of the communities within those RMs. The warnings were gradually lifted within the hour.
SaskPower reported being dispatched to a number of power failures in the region. Kipling, Windthorst, Whitewood, Wapella, Burrows, Handsworth, Corning, Ocean Man First Nations and Peebles were among the affected communities announced by SaskPower.
