Numerous alcohol-related charges keep police busy

Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of October 24 to 30: During the reporting period the Weyburn Police Service responded to a total of 119 calls for service. Police responded to numerous commercial and residential alarms.

During the reporting period the Weyburn Police Service responded to a total of 119 calls for service. Police responded to numerous commercial and residential alarms.

*Around 2:30 a.m. on October 30, police found a 43 year old male lying on the ground outside a local liquor establishment. The male was very intoxicated and had been bleeding. EMS was called to assist once the man was taken into custody and he was released from custody the following morning.

*Police stopped an erratic driver on First Avenue northwest. A 29 year old male from Manitoba was arrested for impaired driving. The man will face charges of impaired driving and driving while over .08. He will make his first court appearance on December 6.

*Police were called to resolve a dispute regarding property and attended to keep the peace. No incident resulted and the situation was resolved.

*On October 29, police attended a domestic situation at a local residence, which was resolved without incident.

*Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. A 21 year old male was issued a 24-hour driving suspension.

*Police were called to a domestic disturbance at a local apartment building. The situation was resolved upon police arrival and no charges were laid.

*Police were called to attend a fight at a local liquor establishment. Upon police arrival the subjects involved in the fight were dispersing from the area. One subject was on conditions from the court and the 33 year old male was later arrested and charged with breaching his conditions. He was held in custody and will appear in court on November 1.

*Police were called to a local residence for a disturbance. The situation was resolved without incident.

*Police responded to a 9-1-1 call from a local residence. A domestic disturbance was resolved without incident and no charges were laid.

*Police were called to a noise complaint at an apartment building. The 36 year old male tenant was advised of the complaint and given a warning.

*On October 28, police were called to a local elementary school. A 2 year old girl was found wandering the school grounds. The child was returned home safely.

* Police received a complaint of minors being in a local liquor establishment. Police attended and 4 female minors were charged with being in a liquor outlet.

*On October 27, police were called to a local licensed establishment to assist EMS with a 41 year old male that was passed out on the sidewalk. The man was transported to the hospital and later released.

*On Oct 26, police came upon a minor motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Coteau Avenue and 16th Street. One vehicle had to be towed as a result of the accident. No charges were laid in the incident.

*Police received a complaint of a local business being defrauded out of $800. The incident is still under investigation.

*A complaint was received of a vehicle stunting in the Weyburn Comprehensive High School parking lot. A 17 year old male was issued a ticket for stunting.

*A report of a stolen credit card was reported to the police. The credit card was used to purchase $3500 worth of merchandise at a local business. The matter is still under investigation.

*On October 25, police were called to assist the nurses in the ER with an intoxicated 44 year old male subject. The situation was resolved without incident.

*Police responded to a complaint of an erratic driver on Confederation Drive. A 16 year old male driver was located and charged with driving without due care and attention.

*On October 24, police responded to a minor single vehicle accident. The vehicle struck a tree on First Avenue northwest. The 46 year old female driver was charged with driving without due care and attention.

*Police were called to assist in opening a locked vehicle with a young child inside. The vehicle was unlocked and the child was unharmed.

*Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Government Road. A southbound vehicle hit a parked utility trailer. There were no injuries reported.
