There was a little drama at the Estevan Comprehensive School Monday afternoon, after a car caught fire in the school's parking lot.No injuries were reported in the blaze which spread to a neighboring vehicle before it was extinguished by the members of the Estevan Fire Rescue Service.

Deputy fire Chief Dale Feser informed The Mercury that the call came in at 12:20 p.m. and the members of his department arrived on scene a few minutes later to find both cars fully engulfed by flames.

Feser added that both vehicles suffered extensive damage during the fire and are likely write offs.

According to reports at the scene, the student who owned the car which initially caught fire had recently returned from lunch and was inside the school when he received a phone call informing him that his car was ablaze in the parking lot.A cause of the fire has not been determined as of yet, but speculation is that it was electrical in nature.
