The NDP's plan for better highways for Saskatchewan includes the twinning of the route between Regina and the U.S. border via Estevan, NDP Leader Dwain Lingenfelter recently announced.
"As the southeast part of our province grows, the highway needs to expand to handle the traffic," said Lingenfelter. "We'll twin the route between Regina and the U.S. Border south of Estevan on Highway 47 to make sure our province's transportation system is safe and secure."
The NDP's platform also includes the Safe Rural Roads Fund, which designates an additional $25 million to repair and upgrade secondary highways and grid roads. With $200 million in new highways and rural roads funding, the NDP's commitment totals $2.48 billion over four years.
