A 42-year-old Flin Flon man was charged with the Criminal Code offence of impaired care and control of a vehicle and driving while his blood-alcohol level was over .08 per cent on March 15.

The incident began for members of the Estevan Police Service (EPS) when they responded to a call regarding a domestic dispute in the city's central area.

The subject will appear in court at a later date.

A group of young people lighting fireworks in the central part of the city also became the focus of police attention that same night.

Police remind the public that it is against a civic bylaw to have or set off fireworks within the city limits without the proper clearance and approval of police and administration.

A report of an unwanted guest at a home in the south side of the city prompted a response from EPS on March 17. An intoxicated person left the scene prior to police arrival.

Police then located a man who had passed out in a local lounge. He was arrested for being intoxicated in public and while they were in the area, police discovered another man who was also too intoxicated to respond and so he too, was taken into custody. One of the subjects was taken to police cells while the second was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital since it was feared he might be suffering from alcohol poisoning. He was held in hospital for observation.

Police were called to look into a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in an alley on the city's west side on March 17. When they attended the scene, they discovered that a minor argument was taking place and one of the parties was not adhering to a court imposed condition so he was arrested and lodged in cells pending an appearance before a judge.

Police continued to check numerous vehicles on the night of March 17 and as a result of their efforts two people were charged for having open liquor in a vehicle and there was one operator's licence suspended for 24 hours.

A 22-year-old Ontario man was arrested for impaired driving on March 17. He was also held in cells until sober and will appear in court next month to answer to the charges.

A report of unruly patrons in a local lounge prompted police response that same night. An Estevan woman was questioned about an assault on the lounge owner and the matter remains under investigation.

While police were on the scene regarding this incident, a fight broke out in the lounge and a 20-year-old man was separated from another male patron. When police made the first attempt to break up the fight, the 20-year-old assaulted them and resisted arrest. He was eventually taken into custody, placed in cells until he gained sobriety and will appear in court next month to answer to charges.
